How to get involved in the GURU program

GURU is a promotional program for Emerging Travel Group partners that will help you to stand out in the search results, attract a high-quality target customer group, and increase your income.

It’s free to participate in the program and the conditions are as flexible as possible. You can offer guests discounts and bonuses at your discretion; it’s even more efficient to manage sales and control the development of your business.

How the program works

The GURU program has four levels. Each traveler is assigned a level based on the number of completed bookings they have made. More bookings mean a higher level and more discounts and bonuses!

At each level, you can customize the discount amount and add bonuses. These are paid services that you are ready to provide to GURU guests as a gift.

You can add discounts and bonuses at any level, but we recommend connecting all four at once to attract more loyal guests.

GURU 1

All registered users of ETG sites

  • Discount from 10%

GURU 2

Users with 2–3 completed bookings

  • Discount from 12%

or

  • Discount from 10% + one mandatory bonus*

GURU 3

Users with 4–11 completed bookings

  • Discount from 16%

or

  • Discount from 10% + one mandatory bonus + one optional bonus **

GURU 4

Users with 12 or more completed bookings

  • Discount from 21%

or

  • Discount from 10% + two mandatory bonuses* + one optional bonus*

*Mandatory bonuses

  • Breakfast — a standard breakfast for all guests for the entire stay.

  • Early check-in — check-in six hours earlier than the official check-in time.

  • Late check-out — check-out six hours later than the official check-out time.

  • Room upgrade — upgrading a room category or improving conditions of stay (changing the type of bed, floor, room size, view from the window at the client’s request, providing a room with a balcony).

**Optional bonuses

  • Minibar –- one-time loading of the minibar upon arrival.

  • Dinner or lunch –- a one-time standard dinner or lunch for all guests.

  • Spa service — one of the complimentary spa services (such as a massage) or a one-time spa visit for all guests.

  • Fitness — one of the fitness services as a gift or access to the gym for the entire stay for all guests.

  • Parking — one reserved space for the whole stay.

  • Laundry — one-time washing and/or ironing (up to 10 items).

  • Welcome amenities –- for example, a fruit plate, assorted chocolates/candies, or a bottle of champagne.

If you wish, you can add more bonuses than are required to connect to a specific level. For example, provide any of the bonuses for GURU 1 guests.

What room categories are included in GURU

By default, GURU discounts and bonuses apply to the most popular and budget room categories (if these categories coincide, discounts and bonuses are assigned to one category). We recommend adding other categories to attract more guests.

What target group you can attract

Level 2, 3, and 4 GURU participants are guests who travel frequently, show the highest loyalty, and are ready to spend more on accommodation than other users of our website. As a rule, they choose a property and search for options with heightened comfort, cancel bookings less often, and leave positive reviews on a regular basis.

With level 2-4 GURU guests, you will receive:

  • 58%* more successful bookings

  • 62%* more reviews

  • +20%* more on the average hotel bill

Additional advantages

Your property will become more noticeable

A special block in the search results with a bright icon, discounts, and GURU bonuses will help with this. When searching on the map, your property will also stand out with a special icon.

Occupancy and revenue will increase

A 10% discount may increase sales by 50%* – guests attracted by the GURU discounts and bonuses study all options, and often end up choosing rooms with heightened comfort. Even if you set a discount just for the cheapest and most popular rooms, you can increase sales in other categories as well.

Extra promotional opportunities will appear

Hotels and apartments that participate in the program are more often featured in e-mail newsletters, promotional campaigns, and other marketing activities of Emerging Travel Group.

You will receive additional support

The program’s participants (GURU levels 3 and 4 guests and all GURU hotels) receive priority support when contacting our experts with questions.

How to activate the program

  1. Register on Extranet ETG. If you are already connected to Extranet, skip this step.

  2. Open the “Promo” section and select the GURU program.

  3. Select a convenient connection option: enable it with one click or set it up manually.

3.1 When connecting with one click, discounts are automatically set for all program levels (GURU 1 — 10%, GURU 2 — 12%, GURU 3 — 16%, GURU 4 — 21%). Before clicking “Enable with one click” at the bottom of the page, you can uncheck levels 2–4. GURU 1 level will be connected by default.

After connecting, you can change the settings at any time. For example, you can replace increased discounts with bonuses. To do this, click on the three dots in the line of the desired level and select “Edit conditions.”

3.2 When setting up manually, you will need to specify the discount size and add bonuses for each level yourself.

Before clicking “Set up manually” at the bottom of the page, you can uncheck levels 2–4. GURU 1 level will be connected by default.

In the “Your conditions for GURU guests” block, click “Configure” in the desired level line. Specify the discount amount and number of bonuses, then click “Save.”

For example, for GURU 2 level, you can specify:

  • A discount of 12%

  • Or a discount of 10% + at least one mandatory bonus.

Important: If you provide bonuses at least at one of the GURU levels, you will also need to add bonuses for other connected levels. For example, you cannot add bonuses for GURU 2 while only providing an increased discount (without bonuses) for GURU 3.

To attract more guests, add additional room categories to participate in the program. GURU discounts and GURU bonuses are automatically applied only to the most popular and most budget-friendly room category. If these categories coincide, discounts and bonuses are applied to one category.

How to deactivate the program

You can turn off GURU rates at any time – for example, during the high season. To do this, you must:

  1. Open the “Promotion” section.

  2. Select the GURU program.

  3. Click “Deactivate the GURU program”.

After this, the program will be deactivated immediately, and rates for GURU users and the highlighting of your property (the program’s symbol) will disappear.

You can reactivate the GURU program at any time.
