How do I add a special offer featuring a discount off the rack rate?

To add a special offer with a discount off the rack rate, please follow the instructions below:

  • Access the "Rooms" tab of the Extranet Emerging Travel website;
  • Click on the “Create special offer” button on the left side of the screen;
  • Select a special offer type from the suggested templates;
  • Select a room category in which the new special offer needs to be created as well as the parent rate plan for that offer

 

  • Early Bird

The “Early Bird” rate plan offers discounts for bookings made in advance.

The settings will allow you to set up the discount availability period in the number of hours before the arrival. For example, if your Early Bird rate plan is available only within 7 days prior to the guest’s arrival (at latest), the discount availability period will be as long as 168 hours. Please use 12 a.m. of a check-in date as a reference point. 

  • Hot Offer

The “Hot Offer” rate plan offers discounts for last-minute bookings. 

The settings will allow you to set up the discount availability period in the number of hours before the arrival. For example, if your Hot Offer rate plan is available only 3 days prior to the guest’s arrival, the discount availability period will be as long as 72 hours. Please use 12 a.m. of a check-in date as a reference point. 

  • Non-refundable

Non-refundable rate plans do not allow for changes or cancellations at any time with a total cost for all room nights charged directly after the reservation is made. To set up a non-refundable rate plan, set 100% for non-refundable prepayment amount, leave the “Booking cancellation” checkbox empty and set a 100% no-show penalty.  

  • Night Rate

Night rate plans will let you sell your remaining unbooked rooms for a certain day at major discounts. The settings will allow you to set up the discount availability period (for example, from 22.00 p.m. till 5.00 a.m. of the following day). The minimum discount rate applicable to the Night Rate is 30%. 

  • Length of Stay

Length of Stay deals let you offer discounts for a minimum number of booking days.

For example, if your Length of Stay rate plan requires a minimum of 5 nights, please enter “5” in the “Minimum stay” field.

  • Sale Period

Sale Period settings allow you to specify the rate plan availability period (i.e. a period during which your guests will be able to book their stay at the rates of a selected rate plan) and possible stay dates (i.e. the check-in and check-out dates).

  • For Active Users

Visible only for registered users having regular booking history. 

  • 6 p.m. hold 

A special offer for rooms you choose to hold until 6 p.m. on a specific date. In case if a guest failed to confirm his reservation and didn’t check in before 6 p.m. (your local time) on a check-in date, the booking can be canceled in the “Bookings” section after 6 p.m. (your local time) on a check-in date. Cancellation or no-show fees do not apply.

  • Free nights

The Free nights special offer allows you to input the value depending on which each corresponding night will be free for the guest (e.g. if you input the value of 3, then the 3rd, 6th, 9th, etc. nights will be free).

  • Rename the special offer if required;
  • Set the discount rate, cancellation and no-show policies, meals and other requirements;
  • Click on the “Create special offer” button;
  • The special offer you have just added will appear in the rate plans list under the corresponding standard rate plan.

Please note that if you use an e-channel manager, the dependent rate plans are counted automatically on the Emerging Travel Extranet. If you wish to update your special offers via an e-channel, please email us at hotels@emergingtravel.com specifying the special offer you would like to function as a parent rate plan, your e-channel and your property ID. Remember to add the special offer first.
