Extra beds are sleeping places you are willing to provide to guests at an additional cost. This is what distinguishes them from other sleeping places that are included in the accommodation by default.
How to enable and add extra beds
1. Go to the “Hotel” section → “Policies” tab → “Extra beds” block.
2. Make sure the “Available” toggle is switched to the right.
3. Configure all bed parameters — type, quantity, pricing, and who they are available for. Each parameter is explained in detail further in this article.
4. Click “Add another type” to set up different bed types. You can add up to 4 types per property.
5. Fill in the “Available in these rooms” table — tick the boxes where you are ready to place extra beds.
6. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.
How to set up type and quantity
1. In the “Type” field, specify which extra bed you are willing to provide. You can add up to 4 types per property, each with its own settings.
2. Enter a value in the “Number of available beds” field. This indicates the total number of such beds available at the property.
What the bed type can determine
The bed type determines who can use it. All types except a children’s bed and a crib are technically available for both adults and children.
Extra bed type | Adults | Children |
Single bed | Yes |
|
Sofa bed | Yes |
|
Euro folding bed | Yes |

Couch | Yes |

Folding bed | Yes |

Baby crib | No | Yes |
Important note
The selected bed type should accurately reflect the real sleeping arrangement you are offering. Otherwise, guest expectations may be misled, which can often lead to incidents.
How to set who the beds are available for
Tick who the bed is intended for: “For adults” and/or “For children.”
You can select one or both options, except for these two cases:
“For adults” is not available if the type is “Toddler bed” or “Baby crib.”
These beds are only available for children. To allow adults, select another bed type under “Type.”
“For children” is not available if your property is adults-only.
Check “Hotel” → “Policies” → “Child policies”. To allow children, disable “Adults only” and set age categories.
How to set adult pricing
1. Choose format — click the percent icon for percentage pricing, or the currency icon for fixed pricing.
2. Enter the value in the “Adult price” field.
Difference between percentage and fixed price
The percentage price is derived from your “Rates and availability” settings, based on the rate for a specific room per 1 guest. You only need to set the percentage.
The fixed price is independent of rates — you set it manually.
How to set children’s age
1. Click the “Age” field.
2. Select the relevant age group in the dropdown.
How age groups work
Age groups in extra beds correspond to the “Child policies” settings.
Settings example:
“Child policies” settings and categories | Age groups for extra beds |
Minimum age permitted 0 Infants / Infants under 3 | Up to 2 y.o. inclusive |
Infants / Infants under 3 Age category 1 / Children under 7 | 3–6 y.o. inclusive |
Age category 1 / Children under 7 Age category 2 / Children under 18 | 7–17 y.o. inclusive |
Crib age rules
Cribs are only available for children up to 4 years old inclusive. If your settings and age groups do not meet this requirement, the crib option will not be available to guests.
Settings example:
“Child policies” settings and categories | Age groups for extra beds | Baby crib availability |
Minimum age permitted 0 Infants / Infants under 3 | Up to 2 y.o. inclusive | Available
The entire age range meets the requirement of “up to 4 years old inclusive” |
Infants / Infants under 3 Age category 1 / Children under 7 | 3–6 y.o. inclusive | Unavailable
The age range includes children older than 4 years. The lower limit meets the requirement, but the upper limit does not |
Age category 1 / Children under 7 Age category 2 / Children under 18 | 7–17 y.o. inclusive | Unavailable
The entire age range falls outside the requirement of “up to 4 years old inclusive” |
The system will notify you if your current age groups prevent the crib from being offered. You can make it available to guests in one of two ways:
a) Remove the incompatible age group from the extra bed settings.
Using the example above:
Keep the “Up to 2 y.o.” age group in the “Age” field.
Remove the “3–6 y.o.” age group by clicking the × icon.
With these settings, the crib will be available only for children up to 2 years old inclusive.
b) Change the category settings in the “Child policies” section.
Using the example above:
Go to “Hotel” → “Policies” → “Child policies.”
Change the value in “Age category 1 / Children under” from 7 to 5.
Return to the “Extra beds” section.
In the “Age” field, select the required age group. The crib will now support both “Up to 2 y.o.” and “3–4 y.o.”
With these settings, the crib will be available for all children up to 4 years old inclusive.
Infants / Infants under 3 Age category 1 / Children under 5 | 3–4 y.o. inclusive | Available
The entire age range meets the requirement of “up to 4 years old inclusive” |
Age category 1 / Children under 5 Age category 2 / Children under 18 | 5–17 y.o. inclusive | Unavailable
The entire age range falls outside the requirement of “up to 4 years old inclusive” |
How to set prices for children
1. Go to “Hotel” → “Policies” → “Children.”
2. Follow the instructions in the “How to configure child accommodation policies” article.
You can quickly check the prices for each extra bed by clicking the “i” icon. A tooltip will display the price for each age group.
How to assign extra beds to rooms
1. Add an extra bed and select its type. A corresponding column will immediately appear in the “Available in these rooms” table.
2. Select the checkboxes for the rooms where this extra bed is available.
How to apply extra bed settings to rooms
All settings configured in the “Extra beds” section are automatically synchronized and reflected in “Rooms and rates” for each room:
On the “Information” tab — the number of extra beds.
On the “Sleeping capacity” tab — the types of extra beds.
Important note
For properties with multiple rooms, extra beds can only be assigned and synchronized if at least one room has been added in “Rooms and rates.”
How setting changes work
You can add new types of extra beds or modify the settings of existing ones at any time. Instructions for each setting are provided in the relevant sections of this article.
Important note
After changing any extra bed settings, you must continue to meet the original conditions for all existing bookings. This means you must provide exactly the same extra bed types and conditions that guests selected at the time of booking.
