How do I set up an accommodation policy for children?

1. Go to “Hotel”“Policies”“Child policies.” To allow children to stay at your property, turn off the “Adults only” toggle.

Important note

If the “Adults only” toggle is turned left but no age settings are configured, children staying in extra beds will be charged the adult price. To set a separate price for children, specify the infant age or create at least one age category.

2. Specify the minimum age at which children are allowed to stay at your property. If you accept children of all ages, enter 0. If you enter 18, your property will be available to adult guests only.

3. In the “Infants under” field, specify the maximum age at which children can stay free of charge in their parents' bed or on an additional sleeping arrangement for an extra fee. This value cannot be lower than the “Minimum age permitted.” If you do not offer this option, enter 0.

4. If children can stay free of charge in existing beds or on additional sleeping arrangements for an extra fee, specify the applicable age ranges in the “Age category 1” and “Age category 2” fields.

Example: if you enter 11, the policy applies to children up to 10 years old inclusive. Children aged 11 are no longer eligible.

The age specified in these fields must always be greater than the value in “Infants under.” If you do not offer this option, leave these fields empty.

5. If children in the selected age category can stay on an additional sleeping arrangement for an extra fee, fill in the “Cost of additional bed” field. You can specify either a fixed amount or a percentage by selecting the appropriate option next to the price field.

  • A fixed price is not affected by rates or any other settings — you set the amount yourself.

  • A percentage is calculated based on your settings in “Rates and availability”, using a specific room rate per 1 guest. You only need to specify the percentage.

6. If children in the selected age category can stay free of charge in existing beds, turn on the “Stay free on existing bed” toggle. If this option is not available for that age category, leave the toggle off.

7. After configuring the “Child policies” section, configure the “Extra beds” section on the same page by following the instructions in the corresponding article.

If your property's child accommodation policy cannot be configured using the logic described above, please do not fill in the fields yourself. Instead, contact our support via chat and provide your property ID along with a detailed description of your child accommodation policy.
